Principal's Message

Welcome back to a new school year!  I hope you and your families have enjoyed the summer.  It will soon be time for classes to begin, and I would like to take this opportunity to provide you with important information about our school.

We are in our second year as a Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) Academy.  That means our students will receive thematic instruction in alignment with the Common Core Standards to best prepare them for college and careers.  This will include visiting our Science & Technology Labs and Art Center.  In addition, our magnet school is a multilingual/ multicultural (English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin) program.

It is very important that students come to school on time every day.  Let’s start the school year right by being to school everyday and on time!

Our goal is to improve the academic achievement and school attendance of all students while maintaining a safe learning environment.  The Amestoy School staff looks forward to working with you and your child during the 2018-19 school year.

Amestoy Chess Club participates in the 31st Annual Gardena Chess Tournament which took place on Saturday, April 7th and brought home 7 medals for our school. I’m extremely proud of all our players who participated. They showed respect, honor and sportsmanship.
