FIre Drill

Today on August 17, 2018 at 8:30am we held our fist emergency fire drill and our Amestoy Eagles did a great job in preparation; they walk in straight lines and remained quiet and attentive to instructions.

Principal's Message

Welcome back to a new school year!  I hope you and your families have enjoyed the summer.  It will soon be time for classes to begin, and I would like to take this opportunity to provide you with important information about our school.

We are in our second year as a Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) Academy.  That means our students will receive thematic instruction in alignment with the Common Core Standards to best prepare them for college and careers.  This will include visiting our Science & Technology Labs and Art Center.  In addition, our magnet school is a multilingual/ multicultural (English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin) program.

The first day of instruction for 2018-19 will begin on Tuesday, August 14th for TK – 5th grade students.  Please note that we will be on regular schedule during the first week of school as follows:

                                   Grade Level                                                          Regular Daily Schedule

TK & Kindergarten (Full-Day)                            7:55 a.m. – 2:14 p.m.

Grades 1st – 5th                                             8:00 a.m. – 2:19 p.m.

It is very important that students come to school on time every day.  Let’s start the school year right by being to school everyday and on time!

Our goal is to improve the academic achievement and school attendance of all students while maintaining a safe learning environment.  The Amestoy School staff looks forward to working with you and your child during the 2018-19 school year.
